Albert Julian Walter obituary

In the early morning hours of January 22, 2016 Albert slipped quietly into the arms of our Lord. Albert’s journey of life began on May 23,1931 in Buffalo New York born to Julia Dopler and his father Albert G. Walter. His life’s journey took him from New York, to Indiana, to Illinois to Tennessee, back to Illinois, and finally to Arbor Vitae Wisconsin.
He believed in the importance of giving back and led a life of service beginning as an Eagle Scout, member of the Jaycees, Sunday school superintendent, and delivered meals to those in need.
As a self-made man, he was a natural born salesman, marketer and leader. During his long career he worked for Penn Controls, Johnson Controls and Hanson Technologies. Beginning his career in the drafting department at Penn Controls for navy contracts/ gun fire circuits, his career spanned sales, teaching, consulting, customer service and management. He represented his trade as a lobbyist for the air conditioning industry and was a representative for the industry trade associations of CRSES, ARI and was the trade association representative for Hanson Technologies for the Industrial Refrigeration Manufacturers. During his career he traveled abroad as a liaison for the European and Asian subsidiaries and had breakfast with President Gerald Ford and his wife.
Al believed a career was not what made a man and it was the simple things in life that he never took for granted. He was absolutely devoted to his wife Jaci and his daughters Pam, Pat and Paula. Married for 64 years to his wife Jaci, he respected and loved her unconditionally. He was always involved with his daughters and encouraged them to be strong and independent women. Being surrounded by women his whole life he was proud and happy to have his three son-in-law’s, Ken, Tom and Steve enter his life. He delighted and reveled in his 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He kept all around him entertained with his stories of his life and travels.
Although his last few years were a struggle, he was a fighter who was determined to live his life without complaint. His life was an inspiration to his family, his half brother, Richard, his half sister, Ruth, his numerous nieces and nephews and to all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts and souls.
Nimsgern Funeral & Cremation Services are providing the cremation services. The family will be having a private celebration of life service in the spring. In lieu of flowers, Jaci wishes that memorials be sent to the American Lung Association or a charity of your choice.
