Bernard R. Krueger, age 86 of Minocqua, WI died on Dec. 20 at his daughter's residence. He was born Dec. 27, 1930 in Bryant the son of the late Theodore and Clara (Reeves) Krueger. He married Agnes (Opper) on Dec. 28, 1951 in Antigo, WI.
Bernie began his 43-year career with the Wisconsin Conservation Department (Department of Natural Resources) in 1949 including a three-year stint in the Army. After several different positions he ended his DNR career in land acquisition in 1993.
At the time of his retirement he had given the Lakeland area 25,000 acres of some of the best property Wisconsin has to offer.
Bernie was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. His flowers, in particular his gladiolus were his pride and he gave away many bouquets to family and friends.
Bernie is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Clure of Eagle River and Susan Krueger of Minocqua and his grandchildren Courtney Clure and Joel Clure of Eagle River and further survived by his brother James (Susan) of Rhinelander and a niece and nephews.
In addition to his parents Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Agnes.
Memorial Service for Bernie will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff, WI with a visitation from 10:00 AM till time of service.
