Calvin Edward “Cal” Lukasavitz, age 92 of Woodruff, WI died on Saturday, February 27th at Milestone Living Center in Woodruff, WI. Cal was born on February 16, 1929 in Custer, WI the son of Felix and Josephine (nee Lepinski). In the 1940’s his family moved to Milwaukee. Cal proudly served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He married Barbara Herrgott on July 13, 1957.
Cal was employed as a boiler operator with WE Energies at the Oak Creek Power Plant for many years and retired to Woodruff in 1993. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Cal loved the outdoors, especially fishing. In his earlier years, he was a hunter. He was an auto mechanic who liked building small airplanes too. He was a lifetime member of the EAA. Cal could fix and build anything!
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara, and by children Patricia Nellen, Craig (Vicki) Lukasavitz and Lynne (John) Gardner. Grandsons Ryan (Liz Griffin) Nellen, Cal (Courtney) Lukasavitz and Jimmy (Brianne Meehl) Lukasavitz. Great grandchildren Kelly and Ethan Lukasavitz. Also survived by his brother Frank and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cal was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings James, Arnold, Max, Catherine Salaja and Dorothy Hanson.
Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, May 22nd at 11:00 am followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery and then a reception at Nimsgern Funeral Home Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Holy Family Catholic Church, 8950 Hwy J, Woodruff, WI 54568.
