Caryl J. Hunter, 74, of North Port, Florida was called home to the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2017. She was born on May 17, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to her parents Milton and Elaine Fohr.
Caryl was an owner and realtor of Hunter Realty in Minocqua, along with her husband Edwin W. Hunter, Jr., for many years and then retired to North Port, Florida. She was a longtime member of Rock of Ages Lutheran church in Minocqua, and then Lakeside Lutheran in Venice, Florida. She delighted in her family, many friends, neighbors, and her special cat, Sapphire Blu. Her joy was cooking and entertaining in her beloved retirement home in North Port, Florida.
Caryl is survived by 6 children; Dawyn (Steve) Schutz of Shawsville, VA , Shayn (Jodi) Freudenwald of Woodruff, Randy (Cindy) Hunter of Lake Tomahawk, John Hunter of Arbor Vitae, Steve (Judi) Hunter of Minocqua, Patricia Hunter of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Trevyr Schutz, Madisyn and Jadyn Freudenwald, Shannon Korrer, Grant, Cory, Kyle and Brett Hunter; and by siblings Glen Fohr, Jeffery Paap, Ruth (Fiance Rodney Christensen) Meehan, and Gail (Rodney) Bentley. Also survived by nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Caryl was preceded in death by her father Milton Fohr, who died serving his country in WWII, second father, John R. Paap, mother Elaine Paap, brother Daniel Paap, sister-in-law Sue Fohr, and brother-in-law Mike Meehan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17 at 2 p.m., at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church of Minocqua, with visitation at the church from 12-2pm.
Burial will be at Lakeside Garden of Sleep in Hazelhurst, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Minocqua, National Cancer Society, or favorite charity of your choice.
