Deloris Barbara Boneck

December 31, 1931 — September 2, 2021

Deloris Barbara (Krotts) “Barbie” Boneck, born to earth December 31, 1931, and lifted back to our Savior, September 2, 2021. Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Bride of 67 years. This is the hardest moment in our lives, losing our matriarch, our rock, our guide, and the soul of this family. We wanted you here forever, Mom.
Being the younger sister to Uncle Bud, you two were inseparable. Walking to and from the one-room schoolhouse, where you learned about Jesus. Your faith carried you through your not-so-perfect childhood. You were always concerned for your brother and watched over him. Throughout your school, you were quite the athlete participating in different sports and cheerleading. And your sense of humor was known to friends, being labeled “Crazy Krotts”. Dating, you broke several hearts as they weren’t the right one. Then a former high school acquaintance reached out to you, during his service in Korea. You waited patiently for him and married upon his return, on July 3rd.
From that time forward you took on your very best role in life, “Mother”. Two sons and a daughter filled your life. The work you did as a draftsperson at Allis Chalmers took a backseat, and then dismissed. Your husband and children were the priority, and you thrived there. Your loving, soft hands held us all so gently. Your encouraging, guiding words gave us the foundation we all stand on. Your faith in Christ was instilled in each one of us, as walking with Him was one’s greatest achievement. God additionally blessed you with the talents of a most wonderful homemaker, in the countless, fantastic meals you made, the detailed and carefully crafted paintings you created, the most cherished words you scripted in poems, cards, and notes to us all, teaching us all to swim, shoot a basket, throw a football, or bait a hook, and your harmonic voice lifted in song at home and Church. Your golf game and bowling were two fond activities of yours, which allowed you a bit of travel. And a number of fun excursions with Dad near, and far. Nothing pleased you more, however, than being home with your family. Moving to the Northwoods in 1994 was a dream of yours and Dad, and staying in Destin during winter months. Both joyful places for you.
Curse words were never a part of you. Not a mean bone in your shattered body. “I’m always here”, you would always say. And you taught us to “look at both sides of the coin”. But you still defended us, as a Momma Bear. Even in pain, you smiled and put on a good front. Nothing would keep you from spending time with your family. There are not enough positive, tender words to give you the honor you so richly deserve. Thank you for all you were, are and always will be to us all. A Saint here on earth, and now God’s heavenly servant. You are deeply missed by us all. We love you, Mom.
Blessed daughter to LeRoy and Emily Krotts, Sister to Leroy “Bud” Krotts (Judy), Loving wife to Lloyd for 67 years, loving mother to Perry (Suzanne), Jeffery (Mary), and Robin (Scott), loving Grandmother to Hilary (Zach), Shannon (Kyle), Kyle (Melissa), Ryan (Leah), Holly (Christian), Aaron (Tess), Erin, Kevin (Lenaya), and Emily (Matthew). Cherished Great Grandmother to Connor, Lauren, Reece, Bailey, Charlie, David, Lauren, Lydia, Landon, Adaline, Mia, and Kennedy. A dear friend and ‘second mom’ to many who met you. Loved beyond measure and carried in our hearts forever.
