Elizabeth "Liz" Perrone

June 17, 1953 — September 6, 2022

Elizabeth Francis (Liz), Perrone (nee Peterson) loving wife of Arthur who noted “she was my life.” Liz, the mother of two passed away suddenly on September 6, 2022, at the age of 69. Liz was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 17, 1953, to George and Zella Peterson. Liz was an enrolled member of the Lac du Flambeau Chippewa Indian Tribe.

Liz grew up in Chicago Ridge, Il where she attended grade school and eventually graduated from Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois; she attended Haskell Indian Nations University (Lawrence, KS) and Milwaukee Area Technical College (Milwaukee, WI) where she received her nursing license. Liz continued to pursue her love of nursing at the Peter Christiansen Health Center where she worked for many years.

Liz liked to help anyone in need. She got involved early in the response to the pandemic by creating masks for family and friends. She loved working at PCHC and was committed to the people she served. She loved drawing, painting, beading, mosaics, and any other creative activities. Many will miss hearing her respond with a ready “okaaay” to their questions or comments.

Liz was very protective of family and extended family members. Liz cherished and is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Brad) and grandchildren: Anthony, Elise, Emery, Dominic, Angelee, and Dante; brothers Edmund and Ted (Sheila); sister Melanie (John); nieces and nephews, Jon, Dan, Mac, Teddy, Stephanie, Rich, Jim, Kara and many, many cousins and close family friends. Liz’s also loved her wire-haired trick dog “Eddy”!

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Debra (Mike), and son, George Perrone.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Trevor Project supporting suicide prevention and crisis interventions for LGBTQ youth.
