Gary Allen Harris

Gary Allen Harris, age 70 of Rhinelander, WI passed away on Monday, January 9th at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander, WI. Gary was born on November 20, 1946 in Rhinelander, WI. Gary graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1965 and then served in the US Army during Vietnam War and once he returned home, he was given an honorable discharge for his service, Gary loved serving his country.
Gary grew up in Rhinelander and later worked at Prange Way in Wausau, WI and Kmart at various stores in WI, MO and MN and then worked for Walgreens.
Gary enjoyed Antiques, furniture restoration, painting, stain glass, gardening and making floral arrangements. He was proud of the things he made and loved showing people his creativity. He also loved remodeling homes, going to thrift stores and rummage sales.
Gary is survived by his Daughter; LoraLee (Jim) Jensen and Grandchildren: Justin Huber (son of LoraLee) who Gary was very proud to have a grandson in his life. His Siblings: Judith Taylor, Robert Harris, Donald (Brenda) Harris, Patricia (Forest) Towne, Richard Harris, Dan (Pam) Zacharias, Randy Zacharias, Debra Kaphingst, Linda Zacharias and further survived by many nieces and nephews he loved very much.
Preceeded in death by his Father, Albert Harris and his Mother, Elvie Zacharias, Grandparents and 2 Sisters: Jean Carol Harris and Peggy Sue Stein.
There will not be a service but a small gathering at Pizza Haven in Rhinelander on Friday, January 13th at 6:00 PM for those who knew Gary to share memories, eat and celebrate his life he had with us.
