Gary (Gooch) L. Pockat of St. Germain, Wisconsin died Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.
Gary was born April 14, 1961 at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Patsy and Donald Pockat of Sayner, Wisconsin.
Gary grew up on Plum Lake in Sayner, Wisconsin where his parents operated Plum Lake Resort and he learned to love the outdoors. He graduated from Northland Pines High School in Eagle River, Wisconsin in 1979.
Gary met and fell in love with Karen (Belliveau) who he met at Clear View in 1989 and were married in 1993 in St. Germain, Wisconsin. When Gary wasn’t working as a Letter Carrier for the USPS in Sayner you could find him fishing, golfing, snowmobiling or relaxing in the sun. Gary loved to have fun.
Gary also had two daughters, Jennifer Pockat of Aberdeen, South Dakota and Brittany Pockat of St. Germain, Wisconsin, who loved and adored their father.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Patsy R. Pockat, and his close fishing partner and brother, David E. Pockat.
Survivors include his loving wife, Karen L. Pockat (Belliveau), daughters, Jennifer and Brittany Pockat, father, Donald G. Pockat (Carol) of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, brothers Ronald P. Pockat (Mitzi) of Sayner, Wisconsin, Michael J. Pockat (Diane) of Woodruff, Wisconsin, Brian D. Pockat of Appleton, Wisconsin and one sister Debra A. Pockat of Sayner, Wisconsin. Grandchildren include Nathan, Logan and Hannah Krumenacker of Aberdeen, South Dakota as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
Memorial Service for Gary will be held on Saturday, September 18th at 11:00 am at Shepherd of the Lakes Church in Sayner, WI with a memorial gathering from 10:00 am till the time of services. Luncheon will follow the Memorial Service at the church.
