Jane F. Solem

Jane Francis Solem passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 following a brave battle with cancer. Jane died peacefully with her loved ones by her side. She was 63 years old.

Jane was born on August 11, 1959 in Milwaukee, WI to Walter and Mary (Vilbrandt) Glatzel. She graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee. She obtained an Associates degree in business. She moved to Minocqua at the age of 18 and began her career in the restaurant business. She and her husband owned and operated multiple restaurants in the Northwoods. In her retirement, she was the office manager at Lakeside Boat Rentals & Storage.

Jane enjoyed spending time with her family & close friends. She had fond memories of being out on the pontoon enjoying the views, entertaining company on the deck, playing games with her grandkids, watching and feeding her many hummingbirds, and tending to her perfect flower garden. She also was an avid reader and the master of crossword puzzles.

Jane is survived by her husband, Jerry Solem, whom she married on November, 28, 1998. They enjoyed traveling, pheasant hunting, fishing in Canada, and coffee on the deck every morning. She is also survived by her children that she brought into the marriage, Dawn (Erik) Foat (Appleton, WI), Jenna Compton (Appleton, WI), David Meade (Stevens Point, WI), and Jarred (Abby) Meade (Appleton, WI), as well as her step-children Hope (Bill) Haberkorn (Fort Collins, CO), Jeff (St. Croix, MN), Johnny (Jr.) Solem (Plover, WI), and Robert Solem (Minocqua, WI).

Jane will be missed by her grandchildren: Rylee, Brady, Brycyn, Braxtyn, Ethan, Nathan, Noah, Ben, Emily, Hanna, Ivy, Mady, Alex, Jared, Jordan, Jaden, Daniel, and Adam.

In addition, Jane leaves behind her siblings Joe (Chris) Glatzel, Ruth Lessl, Patti (Roy) Clough, and Sarah (Todd) Craig.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mary Glatzel.
