John R. Bailey

John “Bob” Bailey, age 84 of Lac du Flambeau, WI died on Thursday, October 16th at Our Home K-Care in Lac du Flambeau, WI. Bob was born on April 23, 1930 in Waukegan, IL the son of Oscar and Elizabeth (nee Slack) Bailey. Bob graduated from Zion Benton High School in Zion, IL and was a Korean Veteran in the US Marine Corps. He married The Love of His Life, Janet Hartmann on September 2, 1950. Bob was a self -employed carpenter for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Madsen-Empey Post 89, Marine Corps League, Life member of AmVets and the NRA.
On October 6th he went on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington, DC.
He is survived by his wife, Janet and Children: Greg, Robert (Carol), Bruce (Cheryl) and Mike (Wendy) and by Daughter in law, Alicia and Grandchildren: Trevor Bailey, Margaret Zahn and Michael Zahn and Tanner and Logan Bailey and Nick Bailey and by 1 Sister, Anne (Jack) Fisher of Toulon, IL and by many nieces and nephews and especially, Sonja Fiddyment Murray and Diann Fiddyment Heisler.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Oscar and Elizabeth Bailey and Brothers, Colonel Paul Bailey, U.S. Army and Willard Bailey and his Son, Bill Bailey and Daughter-in-law, Debbie Bailey.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 21st from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.
