John Stefanski

John Stefanski, age 94 of St. Germain, WI died on Saturday, January 14th at Avanti Health and Rehab in Minocqua, WI. John was born December 9, 1922 in Smykow, Poland the son of Anthony and Josephine (nee Kregiel) Stefanski. He married Cecelia Bober on December 26, 1949.
John was employed as a die setter with Stanray Industry in Hammond, IN for many years. He was a member of Polish American Veterans and loved fishing, carpentry, water well drilling, gardening, cooking and was a tremendous handyman.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years; Cecelia Stefanski and by 6 Children: Mary, Joe, Frank, Elizabeth, Tony and Stan and by 5 Grandchildren: Wally, Kevin, Michael, Justin and Jenna and by 2 Sisters: Anna and Christine and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
John was preceded in death by his parents; Anthony and Josephine; his Siblings: Walter, Joseph, Stanley, Ignatz and Mary and by his Friends: Stanley Madeka, Steve Franek, Ed Wojciechowski, Casey Bendarski, Joe Rajchert, Anthony Widelski and Walter Bender.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with a Funeral Mass on Friday, January 20th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sayner, WI with a visitation from 10:00 AM till time of service. Burial will take place at St. Germain Cemetery in the spring.
