Joseph H. Zales Jr.

Joseph H. “Little Joe” Zales Jr., age 87 of Hazelhurst, WI passed peacefully into Eternal Life on Monday, June 15th at the Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, WI with his children by his side. Joe was born April 27, 1928 in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph H. and Mary (nee Zaraza) Zales Sr. A graduate of Tilden Tech High School in Chicago, IL. He married Mary Costello on August 12, 1947 in Chicago, IL. Joe was employed as an HVAC technician before retiring to Hazelhurst, WI.
“Little Joe” was active with Holy Family Church as an Usher, Sacrastan and Eucharistic Minister, the Votive Candle Maintenance Man and a member of the Spiritual Drumming Circle. He enjoyed all the Northwoods offered, as well as time spendt with family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking and outdoor recreation.
Joe is survived by his Loving Children: Donna (Rich) Skorniak of North Las Vegas, NV; Ann (Jim Heller) Werner of Minocqua, WI; Tom Zales of Highland, IN; Carol Lemmer of Schaumburg, IL and Grandchildren: Jodi (Jason) Codol; Shelli (Joe) Torsan; Rebecca (Joe) Parsanko; Tami (Robert) Pratl; John Werner: Lisa (Bill) Berens; Michael Lemmer; Vince Zales and Joseph (Stacey) Zales and by 16 Great Grandchildren and also by 4 Sisters: Dolores (the late Gene) Goeing, Marianne (the late Don) Vorndran, Barbara (Ed) Pemberton and Kathy (Ed) Stec and further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his Sister, Florence; his Mother Mary Zales, his Father, Joseph H. Zales Sr., his Wife; Mary (nee Costello) Zales and his Son, Joseph “Butch” Zales III and by his Daughter-in-law; Susan Gifford.
Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 22nd at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff, WI with a memorial visitation from 10:00 AM till time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Holy Family Catholic Church or the Seasons of Life Hospice House.
