Joyce Eileen Sheley

Joyce Sheley, aged 85, of Woodruff, WI, formerly of Elmwood, IL, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2017 in Minocqua, WI.

Joyce was born in Galesburg, IL on April 4, 1932 to Florinda and William Montgomery. She married Jim Sheley of Elmwood, IL on June 20, 1953. They were happily married for 30 years before his passing.

Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and caring for her animals. She was also an accomplished horsewoman and riding instructor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Helen Brashear.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Karen (Brent) Simpson, of Minocqua, WI, her grandson, Connor Simpson, her niece Sue Huff and great nephew, Brad Huff and great niece Holley Krall.

Memorial Service will be held at Nimsgern Funeral Home, 1025 Margaret St., Woodruff, WI on Thursday October 5, 2017 at 11 am, with Rev. Mark Gilbert officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 -11 am preceding the service with fellowship to follow.

A second Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 6, 2017 at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, 821 W. Main St in Elmwood, IL with Rev. David Pyell officiating. The family will greet friends from 2-3 pm preceding the service. Graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
