Judith K. Beets

March 7, 1943 — April 23, 2015

Judith Kay (Wetter) Beets, age 72, resident of Hazlehurst WI, died on April 23, 2015 at Howard Young Hospital.
Judy was born on March 7, 1943 to Robert William Wetter and Martha (Fuchs) Wetter in Lancaster, WI and is survived by siblings Stanley Wetter (Cuba City, WI), Bobbie Lange (West Allis, WI), William Wetter (Deforest, WI), Kathy Simon (West Palm Beach, FL), Joan Rowell (Orland Park, IL), Chris Haas (Lancaster, WI), Steve Wetter (Dubuque, IA), Linda Pelgrin (Verona, WI).
It was on September 10, 1960 that Ronney William Beets promised his unending love to his high school sweetheart, delivering it faithfully through 55 years of matrimony and beyond. Married at St. Roses’ Parish, Ron and Judy began their family with two children in Cuba City, WI, Michael Beets (Lake Havasu City, AZ) and Michelle Clark (Buckhorn, NM), and then relocated in 1964 to Burlington, WI where they would add two more children to their family, Lisa Fricke (Hazelhurst, WI) and Scott Beets (Burlington, WI). Their children inherited their parents love, work ethic, and resourcefulness.
Judy’s four grandchildren were her most treasured relationships. Robert Beets, son of Michael and Jeane Northey, Maya Bakalars, daughter of Lisa and Paul Fidler, and Haley and Eric Beets, daughter and son of Scott and Melody (Richards) Beets, will miss her deeply and are guided by her fortitude and spirit.
Judy was as sweet as her coffee and quick with a wit that would surprise and liven any room. June Cleaver would have been envious of her style and attitude. Her vacuum received no reprieve, even if the vacuum lines in the carpet were yet to wear off. She is survived by her cat, Zena, who is among one of the many furry creatures she charmed and loved. Given a roll of nickels she could outfit herself, furnish the house, or make a fortune for all to share from her casino winnings. Her family was her life and the motivation for everything she did–our lives will not be the same without her.
Cremation will be completed by Nimsgern Funeral Services in Woodruff, WI and the ashes will be interned to her husband’s care. In lieu of flowers please donate to the local food pantry or animal shelter of your choice in Judy’s memory. Memorial services will be at a future date yet to be determined.
