Julius "Harry" Schehl

February 1, 1932 — August 3, 2014

Julius H. “Harry” Schehl, age 82 of St. Germain, WI died on Sunday, August 3rd at his residence with his family by his side. Harry was born on February 1, 1932 in Chicago, IL the son of Julius and Alma Schehl. He married Joanne L. Hamilton on September 2, 1950. Harry attended Tilden Tech high school and Bogan Junior College in Chicago, IL. He was owner/operator of an Amoco Gas Stations in Joliet and Palos Heights, IL and retired in 1985. During retirement Harry was a reporter and photographer for the Vilas County News and also a past Master of Eagle River Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed photography, helping with promotions for the St. Germain “Prime Timers,” woodworking and attending church. But first and foremost he was a loving child of God and a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 64 years; Joanne Schehl and by Son, John (Jeanne) Schehl and by Daughters: Jennifer (Casey) White, Jewel Ann (Bob) Nast and Joyce (Michael) Kluck and by 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild and by His Sister, Beverly Schauer. Harry was preceded in death by Daughter, Jeanette Karnoscak and Son in law, Stan Karnoscak and by Grandson, Walter Badon, his sisters Shirley Duffy and Audrey Barrett, one brother William Schehl and by his parents, Julius and Alma Schehl. Even though our hearts ache with overwhelming sadness, that sadness will be replaced with joy knowing you are dancing in heaven with all your loved ones, and you are at peace. Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM and a reception will immediately follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lakeland Believers Church.
