Marvin R. Masiakowski

November 21, 1937 — November 16, 2017

Marvin R. Masiakowski, age 79 of Lac du Flambeau, WI died on Thursday, November 16th at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI. Marv was born on November 21, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Raymond and Sylvia Masiakowski. Marv graduated from Boys Technical High School in Milwaukee, WI and served in the US Army. Marvin married Mary Ann Smallish on August 18, 1962.

Marv worked as an union carpenter and then worked at Lac du Flambeau Grade School with the maintenance department. He enjoyed duck and deer hunting and fishing. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan -never wanting to miss a game. He also enjoyed watching the Packers and Badgers and spending time with his beagle, Remy.

Marv was an extremely dedicated husband and father. Married to Mary Ann for 55 years, the two were basically inseparable-really two peas in a pod.

Marv suffered a massive stroke 22 years ago, which left him with the inability to speak as well as physical impairments. Together the two faced this challenge head on and they developed their own unique way of communicating. They worked tirelessly for Marv to regain his physical independence-including his ability to return to his favorite hobby of hunting, which he and Mary Ann did together.

Marv was very proud of his hunting accomplishments and everyone who entered their home got a tour of Marv's trophy room.

He was a hard worker, a caring individual and a bit of a jokester.

He will be deeply missed.

Marv is survived by his wife; Mary Ann and Children; Mark (Denise), Matt (Linda), Karrie (Keith) and Bart (Gwen) and by 2 Grandchildren: Trevor (Amy) and Marshall and by 2 Great Grandchildren: Joseph and Issac and by his Brother, Thomas and further survived by many other relatives and friends and his special "man's best friend," Remy.

Marv was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond and Sylvia Masiakowski.

Upon Marvin's wishes cremation will take place and private family services will be held at a later date.
