Nate “Dominic” O’Connor found peace on March 1st at the age of 41. Born in Dubuque, IA on June 12, 1979, Nate moved to Milwaukee at the age of 3 and spent most of his life there until he moved to Portland, OR to seek a fresh start and new opportunities. Nate found peace on March 1st after succumbing to complications of congestive heart failure.
Nate is survived by his mom, Susan O’Connor of Renton, WA; dad, Daniel O’Connor and step-dad, Richard Janquart of Greendale, WI; sister Jacqueline (David) Kelnhofer, niece Grace, nephew Connor; and his son, Dominic, as well as aunts, uncles, and the friends he called family, BJ and Karl. He attended St. Mary Hales Corners, Edgewood, Greenfield Middle School, Story Middle School, and Hamilton High. He excelled at the intricacies of computer code and web development, and was passionate about working with his hands, finding great joy in tool and die work. Nate’s life was often talked about in relation to his struggles, but it was defined by his contagious personality, infectious smile, positive attitude, kindness for others, and compassion for those others often overlook. He was a gentle soul who loved without limit or expectation.
