Obituary for Robert D Nelson

Robert D. Nelson of Minocqua, WI age 86 was called home by his Lord and Savior on January 6, 2014. He made his final journey in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Stoughton, WI the son of Ellsworth and Emma (nee: Norgaren) Nelson. He proudly served his Country in both the Army and the Navy before he attended College at UW-Stout and Colorado State University receiving his Masters degree in Education Administration. He was employed by the Milwaukee Public School System for over 30 years retiring in an Administration position. He married Jeanne (nee: Brickson) on February 15, 1958 in Stoughton, WI. He was a devoted and loving husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He loved his Family and the Lord always putting them first. Robert was a talented woodworker and built the homes and most of the furniture in which he raised his family. In his free time he enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Minocqua, WI and by 2 Daughters: Wendy Schoepke of Erin, WI and Patti Nelson-Gill of Hartford, WI and by Grandson, Russell Schoepke of Minocqua, WI and Great Grandson, RJ Schoepke of Minocqua, WI and by nieces, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and Siblings: Clarence Nelson and Kathryn Nelson. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 10:00 AM till time of service at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with luncheon to follow services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Dr. Kate Lakeland Hospice or Lakeland Believers Church would be appreciated.
