Robert B. “Grizzly Bob” Batwinski Sad Day in the Northwoods with the passing of Robert B. “Grizzly Bob” Batwinski, age 68 of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin died on Friday, August 30th at his residence. Bob was born on November 10, 1944 in Racine, Wisconsin the son of Felix and Laura (nee Petersen) Batwinski. Bob was owner/operator at Grizzly Bob’s Bait and Tackle Shop and was an authorized Minn Kota trolling motor service center located on Highway 51 in Woodruff, WI. Bob lived in the beautiful northwoods of Wisconsin since 1967. He left a couple of times but always came back. That’s why he called it “God’s Country.” Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and won numerous contests. He was an accomplished marksman with both firearms and archery. Besides running Grizzly Bob’s Bait Shop, he also did taxidermy for many years. His beautiful mounts were seen by many people visiting his bait shop. Before opening Grizzly Bob’s Bait and Tackle in 1986, he also owned and operated several other businesses, which included shoe repair, lawn and garden business, garbage removal business, and a trucking business. Bob is survived by his parents, Felix and Laura (nee Petersen) Batwinski of Arbor Vitae, WI; his brother, Ted (Darlene) Batwinski of Arbor Vitae/Kenosha, WI; Nephews: Steve (Kim) Batwinski of Waterford, WI; David Batwinski of Racine, WI; Teddy (Shenai) Batwinski of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Niece, Krissy Batwinski of Kenosha, WI and 8 Grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 5th at 8:00 PM at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with a visitation from 6:00 PM till time of service.
