Ronald B Trapp

Ronald B. Trapp was reunited with his heavenly father on October 25, 2018. He passed away in his home under the loving care of his wife and family members. He was born in Minocqua, Wisconsin on Christmas Day, December 25, 1932 to Dewey and Laura (Ahlborn) Trapp. He lived in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin his whole life. He attended AV-W grade school and high school, playing on the high school football team. He served in the Army, spending time in Korea as a radio operator during the war, being honorably discharged in 1955.
He married Caroline Hagstrom on June 29, 1957 in Woodruff, Wisconsin. He built his lake home for his family raising six girls. He was an avid deer hunter, spending several hunting seasons with his son-in-laws and grandchildren and hunting trips with friends. Yearly camping trips were enjoyed by many friends and Ron taught many to waterski. Sixty-one years the family and friends enjoyed the beauty and wonder of his lake home and property.
He was a founding member of the Cross Country Cruiser Snowmobile Club, heading the way for the many snowmobile rides. He incorporated his whole family into his passion of making maple syrup from tapping trees on his property. He grew raspberries and every year was envied for his talent in growing a productive, bountiful garden. He raised white and Canadian geese having a game farm on his residence.
He was a bread truck driver and his bread truck route took many hours in a day. He was always up early, but always after a long day would still remember to make time to do things with his pride and joy, his girls. He worked for Bunny Bread and later Bake Rite Baking Company, retiring early due to health conditions.
He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church serving on many committees. He was devoted to his church.
He was honored to be part of the Freedom Honor Flight visiting Washington DC in October 2014, sharing this time with his daughter and many veterans.
Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Schneck and granddaughter Ashey Ellis, and siblings Harold Trapp, Edward Trapp, Doretta Strasburg, William Trapp, Gale Trapp, Pauline Marsh and Darlene Matz.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Caroline Trapp. His five daughters, Kim (Steve) Grimm, Kay (Paul) Hofmann Jr., Karla (Marvin) Peterson, Kristin Trapp, Kela (Richard) Ellis, Son in law, James (Ruth) Schneck. Two generations of grandchildren: Joshua Grimm, Jessica Grimm, Amanda (Hermando) Poage, Brandon Schneck, Bethany (Luther) Andersen, Paul (Shelby) Hofmann III, Patrick (Katie) Hofmann, Preston Hofmann, Reagan (Travis) Lee, Rhea Peterson, Reece Peterson, Tanya (Brandon) Goerg, Jacob Ellis and Alyssa Ellis. Great grandchildren: Olivia, Ryder, Ricky, Rosalyn, Lucian, Alasdair, Lochlan, Devin, Landon, Warren, Cole and Clayton. His surviving siblings are Jerry Trapp, Lewis (Beverly) Trapp, Josephine Smith, Rose (Jack) Lantta, and Laura Jane (Tom) Maulson.
Funeral Service for Ron will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minocqua with visitation from 10:00 am to the time of the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Forest Gardens Cemetery.
