Thomas "Tom" Jay Hurckes

Thomas “Tom” Hurckes, age 69, passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Evanston, IL to Robert and Lorriane (Rix) Hurckes on May 28, 1952.

Tom married the love of his life Robbi, and they shared a wonderful life together for 48 years. He loved telling a good joke, enjoying a nice cigar and playing cribbage with his brothers. His real joy could be found in the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, and papa and an inspiration to many. His positive attitude and kind, generous spirit touched all who knew him.

Tom is survived by his wife Robbi; his three children Lorrie Hurckes, Kelly (Andy) Skarbek, and T.J. (Kerri) Hurckes; his five grandchildren, A.J. Rylie, Tyler, Dylan, and Lorenzo; his six brothers, Bob (Debbie), Jim (Jodie), Steve (Cathy), Bill (Yvonne), Jeff (Tammy), and Mike (Nancy), as well as many nieces, nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorriane (Rix) Hurckes, as well as Savina and Robert Rix.

A visitation will be held on Monday December 27, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a service to follow beginning at 5:00, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd, McHenry IL 60050.

It has been a tradition in the Hurckes family to pay it forward to an individual or family during the holiday season. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you pay it forward in Tom’s memory. Something that was very special to him.
