William C. Becherer

William Carl (Bill) Becherer, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home in Springstead, WI. Bill was born on March 14, 1952 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Helen and the late Carl Becherer. He is survived by his companion of many years, Arlene Caudle and her sons, Dan (Michelle), Greg (Melanie) and Jeff (Wendy) and their children; by his mother, Helen (Hoffman) Becherer and by his siblings, Pat (Ivo) Spalatin, Jeff (Sue) Becherer, Marybeth Becherer (Jim Pittelkow), John (Tina) Becherer and Dan (Chris) Becherer and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and good friends.

There will be two celebrations in memory of Bill, A Mass of the Resurrection at Christ King Church 2604 N. Swan Boulevard, Wauwatosa, WI at 3:00 PM on Sunday October 7, 2018 followed by a reception at Saz’s State House, 5539 W. State Street, Milwaukee, WI. A Memorial Service at Nimsgern Funeral and Cremation Services, 1025 Margaret Street, Woodruff, WI on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 11:30 AM followed by a luncheon and reception.
Bill attended St. Pius X Grade School and Marquette University High school where he received the Senior Class Acting Award for his portrayal of Pelinore in Camelot. He studied at Marquette University and moved up north to Woodruff where he worked in a variety of businesses. He achieved journeyman carpenter status. He was most noted for being the “Singing Bartender” at Lucky Pierre’s in Mercer WI and was a member of the “Saturday Jug Band” later known as “Cream City”, with his high school buddies.

Bill enjoyed many years with his family and friends on Fence Lake in Lac du Flambeau, WI and later on Mirror Lake in Springstead, WI. Bill loved fishing, playing his guitar around a campfire or at family gatherings, singing, golfing, spending time with his many friends and all things fun and good in life.
