Anne Gould

Sweet, gentle, kind, Anne Gould, 92, Tomahawk, previously of Schofield, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Golden Living Center - Riverview, Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Anne was born December 14, 1915 in Seymour, Wisconsin, the fourth of five children of the late Frances (Kroner) and Joseph Ullmer. She attended schools in the Green Bay area. She was the last surviving child of Frances and Joseph, being preceded by a sister, Dorothy Quimby, and three brothers, Norbert, Harold, and Joseph, her husband, Norris, a daughter, Nancy, plus two grandsons; Greg and Steven. She met her husband, Norris, in Crivitz and it was love at first sight. In January 1940, with the assistance of, and accompanied by, her brother and sister-in-law, Norb and Peg Ullmer, they eloped to Dubuque, Iowa. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2005, the same year that Norris died. Norris remained the love of her life until the day she died. Anne and Norris made their home in Schofield until Norris retired, after which they split their time between there and Bradenton, Florida. Anne was a full time homemaker, who volunteered many hours to Scouting, PTA, and Stunt Night. Her reputation as a great cook was known far and wide. No one else has ever made better pickles, and her jams were revered as Christmas presents. Her happiest times were spent with her family, especially time spent with her in-laws, Elmer and Eleanor Gould, on their many adventures, including building the log cabin in Crivitz and other wonderful times, too numerous to mention. She also took great pride in the time she spent serving as foreman on the Federal Grand Jury. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wausau. She was the mother of five children. Nancy, who died of lung cancer at the age of twelve, Lois (Don) Brown, Tomahawk; Perry, Rhinelander; Norbert (Rachel), Houston, Texas; and Tom, Wausau and Panama City Beach, Florida. She was a loving and involved grandmother of nine grandchildren, Nick (June), John (Kristine), Victoria (Randy), Matthew, Luke (Amy), Adam (Becky), Tina, Tracy (Jim), and Susan (Bill) and a devoted great grandmother of thirteen, Marc, Season (Darrel), Aaron, Kristopher, Zachary, Trent, Abigail, Sydney, Christian (Del), Brianna, Tyler, Nicole, and Austin. She was also blessed with two great great grandchildren, Haley and Peter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to her. Krueger & Sons Funeral Home, Tomahawk, is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Wausau, Rev.
