Arlyce Rae (Dumask) Rheingrover of Minocqua, WI, died Monday, February 14th at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Minocqua, WI. She was 84 years old.
“Arlie” as most people knew her by, was born on May 24, 1937 to Henry and Veneta Winters in Wausau, WI. She attended Grant Elementary School, Horace Mann Junior High and Wausau High School. On October 10, 1959 she married Chet Dumask of Presque Isle. Together they owned and operated Chet’s Hardware & Sports Center in Presque Isle for many years. After selling the business they eventually divorced and Arlie went on to work as a realtor in the area. Arlie was a “social butterfly” always loving to talk with people and making them laugh. She loved to waitress in addition to her regular work, creating many lifelong friends. She was on the original North Lakeland Elementary School Board. She also helped establish the Presque Isle Sno-Bunnies Snowmobile Club and designed their original logo. She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain people in her home with all her delicious wild game feeds and home baked goodies. She loved to knit and do needlepoint, creating many treasured items for her family to enjoy.
On August 21, 1999 she married Edward Rheingrover. Together they spent their retirement as “snow birds” traveling to Florida in the winter and coming back to northern Wisconsin for the summer.
Arlie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s sports games. You could always hear her hooting and hollering to cheer them on.
