Betty Oman

Betty L. Oman, age 77, W6785 Spirit View Rd., Tomahawk, died as a result of a fire at her home on Monday, April 19, 2010 . Betty was born December 29, 1932 in Tomahawk, the daughter of William and Vivian (Lutes) Hanlan. She married Leland 'Lee' Oman on June 10, 1950 in Minneapolis; he passed away August 28, 2006. Betty and Lee farmed in the Town of Spirit until 1965, when they moved to Tomahawk. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit and Tomahawk. Betty enjoyed music and was an avid piano player. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, and the outdoors. Survivors include: Daughter Linda Oman Tomahawk Sister Barbara Ernst Tomahawk Betty is further survived by 2 grandchildren - Arnold and Dawn, and 2 great grandchildren - Harley and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral Services for Betty Oman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010 from United Methodist Church in Tomahawk. Pastor Allen Christensen will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Spirit Hillcrest Cemetery in the Town of Spirit.
