Betty A. Silkworth, 82 of Minocqua, WI passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI. Betty was born on October 14, 1942 the daughter of Chester and Helen Mohns. Betty and her sisters were raised lovingly by Clarence Gissing and Helen. She married James Silkworth on April 7, 1984. Betty worked for United Airlines for many years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and was a devoted Packer fan.
Betty is survived by her daughters Renee (Phillip) McElwee and Rhonda Nessler and by her grandchildren Justin, Lucas, Jacob (Jennifer), Briana, Ashlee, Leah (Ryan), Lindsey, Brandon, Devlin and Dylan and by her great grandchildren Kobe, Lakota, Destiny, Summer, Kaitlyn and Harvey. She is further survived by her sister Phyllis (Tom) Stine, brother-in-law Jeffrey (Charlotte) Behrendt, sisters-in-law Bernadette Whalen and Beth Silkworth and by her nieces Lori (Hal) Hulbert, Cathy (Lonnie) Czapiewski, Maureen (Michael) Faulkner and nephews Robert (Lynda) Zumkehr, Kevin (Lisa) Zumkehr, Michael Behrendt, Marc (Rachael) Behrendt, Kevin Kuhnke, Jason (Jenny) Silkworth and Nathan Silkworth.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Larry Worzala and second husband James Silkworth and her parents Clarence and Helen Gissing and her sister Shirley (Richard) Zumkehr and by her sister-in-law Claudette Kuhnke and brothers-in-law Raymond "Butch" Silkworth, Patrick "Pat" Whalen and her Mother and Father-in-law Maryann and Robert "Mike" Behrendt and further survived by her wonderful neighbor, Susan Easley who visited Betty everyday to bring her mail and check on her along with dear friends Sherry Kairis and Karen Morgan as well as a host of other friends and extended family.
Upon her wishes, cremation took place and private family services will be held.
