Charles F. Kandutsch, 81, of Phillips, WI, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2022, doing what he loved – working in the woods. Chuck was born on March 24, 1941, to Charles and Helen (Samal) Kandutsch, in Phillips.
Chuck grew up in Phillips, attending school here until graduation. After high school, he went to college before joining the National Guard. Chuck worked at the State Bank before taking over his father’s shoe and clothing store. He completed his working career with United Pride Dairy where many of his coworkers knew him as “Uncle Chuck”. He married Sherrie Pesko on July 11, 1964, and they one son. Chuck was a passionate supporter of the non-profit Phillips Friends of Scouting, Inc. as their treasurer, and Troop 540, he loved hunting, reading, and anything to do with old cars. He was also a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.
Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sherrie; son, Charles; sister, MaryJane (Charles) Schweikert; brothers-in-law, Michael (Patricia) Pesko and Jon (Sherry) Pesko; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Lilian Pesko, and infant brother-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on July 6, 2022, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 655, S. Lake Ave, Phillips, WI, 54555, with Father Lourdu Raju and Father Jerry Hagen officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Phillips Friends of Scouting, Inc, would be appreciated. Cards may be sent in care of the family to Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, PO Box 27, Phillips, WI, 54555.
