David J. Medendorp

March 18, 1961 — May 31, 2026

Minocqua

David Joseph Medendorp, 65, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home with family by his side. Born March 18, 1961, to Peter and Virginia (nee: Ganzel) Medendorp. He attended Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin, and he spent his career with Fall River Manufacturing as Vice President of Manufacturing in Milwaukee, later moving his business to Columbus, Wisconsin. Dave was united in marriage to Tracy (nee: Lampert), and they attended Woodruff Baptist Church.

Dave loved spending time with friends and family and was passionate about all his endeavors: he held his pilot’s license for a period of time and was an excellent guitar player, cook, and builder. He was an accomplished engineer, holding several patents for original designs. In retirement, he obtained his master electricians license and started his own electrical contracting business.

No minute was wasted, as Dave always had a project (or multiple) started. There is nothing that Dave could not do; no matter what he set his mind to, he could accomplish. From creating innovative products and manufacturing processes at work to single-handedly designing and building several homes, Dave thrived on a challenge and no goal was unattainable.

Throughout his life, Dave’s heart lay in the north woods, and he made his dream of moving come true by building his retirement home in Minocqua. Dave enjoyed all types of outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. Some of Dave’s favorite moments were spending time with his children and grandchildren up north. He enjoyed sitting around the campfire and teaching them how to roast the perfect mallow.

To his wife, children, and all those whose lives he impacted, Dave was a remarkable man. David will be missed by his loving wife, Tracy; children, Nicole Pier (Jordan, Ella, Vivyan, Cash, Charlie), Sara (Mark) Haenel (Benjamin, Lilly, Lucas), Amanda Medendorp (Alexa, Leah, Maxwell, Eliana, Brody), Jacqueline (Daniel) Daams (Christian, Mason, Isabelle, Hadley, Waylon, Lennan), Justine (Brandon) Berens, and Bradley (Nicole) Hansel; siblings, Linda (Michael) Tinholt, Debra Williams, Pamela (Moises) Vallejos, Peter (Laura) Medendorp, Sandra (Richard) Mundell, Keith (Lisa) Medendorp, Virginia (Joseph) Evreniadis, Clara (Jay) Krygsheld, Sara (Calvin) Timmer, Barbara (Mark) Lammers, and Laura (Dan) Decker; 19 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Virginia Medendorp and his brother-in-law Harry Williams.
