Delwin Ernst

Delwin W. Ernst, age 79, of N9519 Phalzgraff Road, Tripoli, passed away at his home on Friday, August 22, 2008. Del was born on April 29, 1929 in Tomahawk to the late Herman and Emma (Rhody) Ernst. He married the former Barbara Hanlan on March 5, 1949 also in Tomahawk. He was raised in the Spirit area and moved to Minneapolis where he was employed by the Star Tribune as a commercial artist for 20 years. Del moved back to the Spirit area in 1973, he was well known in the area for his wild bird wood carvings. He also enjoyed spending time on his farm and being with family. Survivors include: Wife, Barbara 3 Daughters, Robyn (Todd) Erlandson Rothschild, WI Erin (Jim) Ernst/Ski Tomahawk Shari (John) Steigerwaldt Cotopaxi, Colorado 1 Son, Greg Ernst Circle Pines, MN Del is further survived by 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons. Private family services for Delwin Ernst will be held at a later date.
