Dennis G. Baldwin of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, died peacefully on February 12, 2026, after a long illness. Dennis was born on June 16, 1940 and was raised in Tomahawk, the middle child of the late Jerry and Helen Baldwin. He graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1958. He remained in Tomahawk until 1963, when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He spent over eighteen months of his military service in Germany as a member of the Signal Corps. Dennis relocated to the Watertown, Wisconsin area in 1967, joining other family members who lived in the area. He became an expert long-distance truck driver, logging over 1 million miles, driving eighteen-wheelers in every state of the lower 48. Dennis enjoyed traveling in Europe and vacationed there over 25 times throughout his life. Dennis was full of stories from his driving days and his travels. Dennis visited Tomahawk frequently during the years that he resided in Southern Wisconsin. He loved his Class Reunions and attended all of them. Driving one of his restored Cadillac convertibles in the Fourth of July Parade was one of his great joys. His heart was in Tomahawk and he returned there permanently in the 1990s, purchasing a home just north of town on Highway Y.

Dennis is survived by his dedicated caretakers, cousins Janell and William Morehead of Madison, WI; his sister, Wilma Hanson of Framingham, MA; his brother-in-law, Richard Blasing of Deerfield, WI; and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Helen Baldwin; his sister, Sharon Blasing; and his brother-in-law, James Hanson.

The family is most grateful for the excellent care that Dennis received over the four years he spent at Badger Prairie Health Care Center in Verona, WI and at the hospice unit of the William Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.

Memorials may be made in Dennis’ honor to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
