Donald “Don” Bayer, age 72, passed away on Friday, December 19. He was born on January 18, 1952, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and was delivered by Dr. Kate Newcomb.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and National Guard for 11 years.
Don made his home in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, where he lived with his wife, Cherie Bayer. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who deeply valued family and time spent together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth “Betty” Bayer and Elton Bayer, and by his brothers Kenneth Bayer, James Bayer,and Charles “Chuck” Bayer.
Don is survived by his wife, Cherie, and his sons Joel Bayer, Jesse Bayer (Leslee), and Jared Bayer (Amy), Tara Erspamer (Bill) He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bella, Shelby, Hannah, Emma, Nicholas, and Matthew who brought him great pride and joy. He is further survived by his brother David Bayer (Mary Pat) and his sister Rose Bragg (Don).
Don will be remembered for his humorous demeanor, his dedication to family, his years of service to his country, and the steady, dependable presence he was to all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of life will be scheduled after the Holiday Season.
