Donald L. Lawson, age 93 of Casa Grande, AZ passed away peacefully Saturday, July 25, 2026 surrounded by his children. Don was born on May 21, 1933 in Topeka, Kansas to Russel and Hattie (Knapp) Lawson. He was united in marriage to Norma Albro on May 15, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas.
Norma passed away on January 28, 2012. Don was united in marriage to Mildred Palmer on September 7, 2014 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Millie passed away on April 9, 2024. Don retired from the Racine, Wisconsin Police Department on March 30, 1989 after 21 years of service.
Don enjoyed a 38 year retirement. Early retirement interests included fishing and tending to his flower beds. He picked up golfing and was able to accomplish two holes-in-one at the age of 85. Later interests included assembling jig saw puzzles and watching his western channels.
Survivors include his daughter Jean Lawson of Russellville, KY; sons Russell Lawson of Minong, WI and Daniel Lawson of Racine, WI; sisters Marie Carlat of Wakarusa, KS and Marlene Davis of Maple Hill, KS. Don is further survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and special friend Peggy Croll. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Norma and Millie; brother Jimmy; son Wayne and grandson Johnny.
Visitation for Don will be held on Saturday, August 8th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at First Congregational Church with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am and then burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the First Congregational Church in Tomahawk, WI. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Avista Senior Living Casa Grande.
