Donald A. Loversky
August 29, 1930 – January 24, 2026
Donald A. Loversky passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 24, 2026 in Lake Zurich, IL. The only child of Ann and Frank Loversky, he was born at St. Anne’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. Born to adventurers, he enjoyed a good adventure himself travelling all over the U.S. and Mexico with his parents as a child and young adult. He worked for the railroad in Alaska with his friend Bob Thompson one summer during his college years and recalled the day that a Grizzly came into the cook car as bacon was being fried.
He rode the streetcar to the University of Illinois when it was located on Navy Pier but finished his education and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, IL
Don was Vice President of SR Industries, a structural steel company out of Schaumburg, IL. Upon retirement, he and Joanne became confirmed snowbirds spending the summer and fall in Phillips and winter and spring in Naples, FL. His adventures continued as he traveled the world with his wife Joanne and Pat and Tom Vidak.
He loved a glass or two of chardonnay, a good pinochle or poker game, a daily walk, a round of golf, reading his bible in the morning with a cup of coffee and most of all, all of us.
Don was a kind, funny and humble man, who never failed to help when he could. He was beloved by all but especially by his late wife Joanne (Rynar) Loversky, his daughters Elise Loversky and Jill (Jim) Baloun, his grandchildren Lauren (Matt) Krumholz, Matthew (Sarina) Baloun and Luke Baloun and his great grandchildren Lily and Caden Krumholz, who were his delight.
He is also survived by his beloved sister-in-law Carole (Rynar) Hoge and her husband Tom. His nieces Stephanie (Shawn) Weinfurter, Heather Rasmussen, Rebecca (John) Hogan and his nephew Robert (Colleen) Warren, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife Joanne (Rynar) Loversky and his parents Ann and Frank Loversky.
