Edward Joseph Bogdan Sr., 73, passed away on August 21, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family.
Ed was born on November 21, 1952, in Cicero, Illinois, to Felix and Pearl Bogdan. He married Donna Nye and together they had three children, Edward Jr., William, and Carol Ann. Ed served his country in the army for six years, including in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. He always loved vacationing at his family’s cabin on Lake Nokomis, and soon after having his children made the decision to move his family to northern Wisconsin.
Ed was a man who never stopped moving. He worked hard at everything he did, whether that was logging in his younger years, being a heavy machinery mechanic at Biewers for 18 years before his death, or providing for, loving, and supporting his family. Ed loved to cook and was great at it, and there wasn’t a broken thing out there he couldn’t fix. He will be remembered for his dedication, his goofy humor, and how deeply he loved his children and grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his three children, Edward Jr., William (Danielle), and Carol Ann (Nikki); his grandchildren, Caelyn, EJ, Leila, Hailey, Kali, Matti, Brayan, and Brynlee; and his brother, John. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Pearl, and his sister, Carol Ann.
There will be a celebration of life at the Railroad Rec Center in Prentice on Saturday, August 29 from 11am-2pm. A private cremation and family burial will be held at a later date.
