Elmer Edward Mayer
Elmer E. Mayer, 87, Phillips, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice, Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, and his wife Rosemarie.
He was born on December 13, 1928, in Phillips, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Maderich) Mayer.
He attended school at the Hartman Grade School, Township of Worcester. He then worked on his families dairy farm and drove truck for Flambeau Milling, Phillips until the time he entered military service.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict Era, in Germany.
Following military service he was married to Rosemarie Schlenker on July 5, 1958, in Phillips. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
He was employed with his Father operating heavy equipment and then for R.E.A. Electric and Price Electric for many years prior to his retirement. After his retirement he and his wife traveled extensively throughout the southern United States.
He is survived by his wife Rosemarie, by 1 brother: Arnold (Jean) Mayer, all of Phillips and by nieces and nephews.
There is no service being planned at this time. Inurnment will be in Bloomington, Ill., at a later date.
