Fred M. Troyke, age 90 of Foley, AL and formerly of Woodruff, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 21st under the care of his family and The Retreat at Sadd Hospice Facility in Mobile, AL. Fred was born on June 2, 1934 in Chicago, IL the son of Fred R. and Margaret (nee Pitzer) Troyke.
He attended John Mills Elementary School in Elmwood Park, IL and was graduated from Proviso Township High School in Maywood, IL. A Korean War veteran, Fred proudly served in the US Army and owned and operated Fred’s Barbershop in Cicero, IL. Fred married Louise Ann Deal on October 19, 1957.
He enjoyed retirement years in northern Wisconsin by volunteering at Howard Young Medical Center, boating, woodworking, and playing in the great outdoors. Fred loved music, theater, and reading.
Fred is survived by his three sons; Fred (Maria) Troyke, Mike Troyke, and Anthony (Janet) Troyke; by his grandchildren Julissa, Fritz, Justine, Michael, Christopher, Maximilian, and Margaretha: by his great grandchildren Elliott, Emery, Nathaniel, and Ilsa; and by his companion dog Lily the Dorkie. He was preceded in death by his parents Fritz and Margie, his beloved wife Louise, and dear daughter-in-law Sue Troyke.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Nimsgern Funeral & Cremation Services and also on Saturday, December 14th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am and burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
