Gladys G. Thays, age 93, a resident of Woodruff, WI, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at Careview Health & Rehab in Minocqua. She was born July 14, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI, to parents Armas and Esther Tuominen. She married the love of her life, Darrol Thays, on June 23, 1951, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Greenfield, WI. They lived in Alabama for two years while Darrol served in the U.S. Army. She was a bookkeeper at Barg Electric in Milwaukee for a number of years. She was an accomplished artist with a large body of work mainly consisting of paintings using various techniques and media. She volunteered at the Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee, and she belonged to the West Allis Art Alliance. She enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church for many years. Her hobbies included art, sewing, bowling, camping and card club. She loved to travel with her family and friends, including a trip to Finland to meet her relatives there.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Darrol; son, Craig; parents Armas and Esther; sister: Beverly Koepsel. She is survived by her children: Cindy (Daniel) Scrobell, Toby (Larry) Capaul; grandchildren: Jesse (Timothy) Kutz, Ashley (Frank) Pullara; great grandchildren: Mason Kutz, Hailee Kutz, Mia Pullara, Niccolo Pullara; sister: Sharon Robison; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy.

Private family services are being held. In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family asks that you perform a random act of kindness in remembrance of Gladys.
