Harold J. Irmischer, age 86 of County Rd W, Merrill, and formerly of Tomahawk, passed away September 12, 2008 at Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill. He was born January 22, 1922 in Milwaukee to the late Richard and Antonia Irmischer. Later he built a home and moved to Tomahawk with his wife Ruth, and raised their children.
Harold was employed at the Tomahawk Boat Factory, and then at Winter Enterprises; which he purchased and renamed Hi-Plastics, where they manufactured Hi-Ryder Boats. Later in life Harold was married to Myrtle Prentice on July 2, 1985. Myrtle also had children, and between them they had a total of 13, they also had many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. In retirement Harold enjoyed gardening and feeding the wild birds with his wife Myrtle. He also was an avid wood worker in his work shop behind his home.
Survivors include his Wife Myrtle Irmischer, his Sister, Lorraine (Emil) Toede, and his children, Kathleen Russ, Mary Ann (Al) De Rosier, Carol (Dave) Barger, Barb (Tim) Zuehlsdorf, Richard (Barbie) Irmischer, Kay (Rick) Van Eyck, John (Bev) Prentice, Judy Paszek, Richard (Sharon) Prentice, Jerry (Karen) Prentice, Terry (Debra) Prentice, Linda (Jeff) Annis, and David (Tyler) Prentice. Harold was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth (Meyer), his parents and Son-in-law, Sam Russ.
Memorial Services for Harold Irmischer will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11 AM from the Krueger & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9 AM until the hour of services at 11. A Veterans Tribute Service will take place right before the memorial service. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
