Helen C. Kohl, age 91, of Tomahawk, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at Golden Living Center- Riverview in Tomahawk. She was born July 14, 1917 in Stratford, WI. She was the tenth of fourteen children in her family. She was married to Alvin "Al" Kohl on June 23, 1956 in Stratford; he passed away on March 9, 2000.
Helen grew up in the Stratford area. She worked as a Telephone Switchboard Operator, then as the Secretary for the Stratford High School, and later as the Secretary/Bookkeeper for the Stratford Canning Factory. She and Al moved to Tomahawk in 1956. She worked at the Side Street Bakery in Tomahawk for many years. She enjoyed knitting, needlework, and Baking.
Survivors include 1 Daughter, Barbara (Larry) Erickson of Missouri, and 1 Son, Rick (Marion) Kohl of Tomahawk. She is further survived by Step-Grandchildren, Step-Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her Parents, Her Husband, Al, 8 Brothers, and 5 Sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Kohl will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2 PM from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Rev. John Anderson will officiate with interment at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12 Noon until the time of services at 2 PM. Krueger & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
