Henry Schroedel Jr., 93, met his Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with his beloved Eleanor on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Seasons of Life in Woodruff, Wisconsin.
Henry was born on January 15, 1933, in Rosholt, Wisconsin, to Lillian (née Kruzicki) and Henry Schroedel Sr, one of 10 children and the middle of 3 sons.
Henry met Eleanor Gliniecki at the Ron De Voo Ballroom in Milwaukee in January of 1952 and were married April 20, 1953 at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt, Wisconsin. They shared 71 years of marriage before Eleanor’s passing on August 18, 2024. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love, creating countless cherished memories with their family and friends.
Henry will be remembered for his deep love of family, his strong faith, and the kindness and warmth he showed to those around him. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who loved him, while also bringing comfort in knowing he is reunited in eternal peace with Eleanor.
Walking off the family farm when he was 17, Henry was always working, whether in the cranberry bogs, papermill, as a sprinkler fitter, TV repairman and eventually found his career at NCR. Starting in Schofield with NCR, Henry eventually moved to the Corporate Headquarters in Dayton, Ohio. In 1966 Henry, along with his brother Robert and others built a cottage on Blue Lake in Minocqua. In Ohio Henry traveled the country for NCR repairing and working on office machines and computers. In 1970 Henry moved his family to Duluth, Minnesota where he was a branch manager and eventually to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin all the while trying to get back to north central Wisconsin. In 1976 Henry and Eleanor moved to Weston, Wisconsin. When Henry retired in 1988 he and Eleanor moved to Blue Lake permanently.
Faith was always the cornerstone of Henry’s life. He served as Parish Council President, Lector, Eucharistic Minister and in the choir on Sundays as well as a Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator in the Knights of Columbus.
Henry is survived by his son Michael (Lisa) Schroedel, Kronenwetter; daughter Geralyn (Jamie) Nimsgern, Minocqua; and his grandchildren Madalyn (Justin Datka), Alison, Thomas Schroedel, Christopher Coates and Justin (Meredith Davey) Nimsgern, Jennifer (Andy) Paris, Annika Nimsgern and Caitrin Nimsgern and by great grandsons Jacob Matthew Schroedel and Beau Henry Larson and Enzo James Paris and his great granddaughter Lainey Marie Paris.
