Ila Higgins

Ila Higgins, age 79, W7047 Cty. Rd. O, Tomahawk, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 at her residence under hospice care. Ila was born September 30, 1927 to Peter and Ona (Wagner) Schultz. She was formerly married to Robert Melquist. She later married Francis Higgins in 1974; he passed away in 1995. Ila spent her younger years in Indiana. She lived in many places throughout the Midwest before moving to Tomahawk in 1961. She was a former secretary for the Tomahawk Annex, former treasurer for the Town of Bradley, and was formerly employed at a boat factory. Ila enjoyed working in her house, playing the harmonica, fishing, her family, grandchildren, and her 3 cats. Survivors include: 1 Daughter Pat (Milton) Gustafson of Brantwood 2 Sons Andy Melquist of Tomahawk Scott (Brenda) Melquist of Tripoli 1 Step Daughter Terry Higgins of Tomahawk 2 Step Sons Vernon (Kay) Pinter of Plymouth Francis "Butch" (Becky) Higgins of Sheboygan 2 Brothers Peter Schultz of Sun Prairie Andy (Ruth) Schultz of California 1 Sister Lesona (Tom) Tait of Missouri Ila is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, 2 brothers, and 1 son.
