Jane Heikkinen

Jane Heikkinen, 68, of Prentice, passed away on October 8, 2023, at the Waterford in Park Falls, WI. She was born to Floyd and Betty (Blomberg) Nelson on January 20, 1955, in Medford, WI. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at The Waterford of Park Falls for the care and dignity Jane was afforded, as well as Supportive Home Services and Price County ADRC.

Jane’s greatest joys in life were being a wife to Howard and the mother of her four boys. She was actively involved in their busy lives, including being a valued member of the Buccaneer Booster Club for many years while her boys played sports. She enjoyed her fair share of sports as well, even winning the women’s golf league club championship. Her and Howard loved to travel, most especially to visit dear friends and cousins. They also loved attending Packer games and vacationing on Hilton Head Island. When not traveling, she greatly enjoyed being home reading a book. She is remembered by her love of family, commitment to her community, and willingness to always dance to the music.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Howard; children, Heikki, Nikki (Carol), Kaynen (Amy), Cameron (Hannah); grandchildren, Leila, Kali, Matti, Claire, Eli, Kate, Leo, Jesse; and many other family members and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Betty Nelson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Prentice First Baptist Church, 757 Cherry Street, Prentice, WI, with Pastor Jordan Scott from New Beginnings Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm and continue until the service starts at 4:00 pm. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
