Jane Mason

Jane Mason, age 80, of Woodruff, WI, passed away on May 8, 2025 at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff. She was born on April 10, 1945, in Waukegan, IL, to parents Howard “Hobby” and Evelyn Smith. She graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 1963. She married Jerry Mason on September 10, 1966. Jane worked various jobs throughout her career. She worked for the Wisconsin Conservation Department, Mama’s Supper Club, Circle M, Smith Bros. Marine, Northern Merchandise, and Northern Café.

She loved riding horses, playing bunco with Mama's girls and tap dancing with Lynda Kronzer.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Kent Smith; niece: Donna Mason; former husband: Jerry Mason.

She is survived by her daughter: Amber (Lawrence) Haling; grandchildren: Victoria and Mac Haling; nephews Scott (Lisa) Smith and Wayne (RaeAnn) Mason and niece, Julie (Clarence) Granger and by sister-in-law: Tedra Smith; dear friends: Helen (Jane) Wegner, Margaret “Maggie” Baer, Cynthia Lei’Nako.

Celebration of Life Services for Jane Smith Mason and her brother Kent Smith will be on Saturday, July 5th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the American Legion Hall in Minocqua, WI.
