Jean M. Rose, age 93, Tomahawk, passed away September 21, 2014 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk.
Jean was born August 26, 1921 in Tomahawk, the daughter of Herman and Rose (Lang) Leverance. She married Howard T. Rose in 1941, in Crystal Falls, Michigan; he passed away in 1987. Jean started out working as a bookkeeper for Koth's Skelgas in Tomahawk. Later, she owned and operated the Pine Tree Gift Shop, worked at the Hallmark Shop, and was the Cookie Lady at Bradley Bank for many years. Jean loved to travel, enjoyed painting, ceramics, and her weekly Bridge Club. She was a very active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.
Survivors include: children, Mary Rose, Bend, Oregon, Patty Poshtar, Tomahawk, Tim (Kate) Rose, Park Falls, Jon (Leah) Rose, Stevens Point. Jean is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband - Howard, daughter - Kathy Reich, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
A Memorial Mass for Jean Rose will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Friday, October 3rd from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the hour of Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
