Janette Joan Kurth, 92, of Tomahawk, WI passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Milestone Assisted Living. Janette was born January 24, 1933 in the Town of Schley in Merrill, the daughter of William F. and Hattie (Plamann) Krueger. She was united in marriage to Daniel Kurth on October 10, 1953 in Irma, WI. Janette moved to Tomahawk in 1976 from Wausau. She worked at the Glove Factory in Merrill, the Winklman’s Department store in Wausau, and was the head cook at Schultz’s Country Inn in Merrill.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynn (George) Derleth, Tomahawk; Bonnie (Scott) Meyer, Wausau; son, Mark (Mary) Kurth, Tomahawk; grandchildren, Jeff (Mary Haegerl) Kurth, Adam (Lindsay Buettner); Alie Meyer (Clint Brawner); Alicia (Tadd) Wegener, Tony (Dawn) Derleth, Melissa (Justin) Cerney; great-grandchildren, Kaleb (Natalie Hagenow), Jordyn (Bryce Booyea), Jake Kaminski, Kate, Jack Derleth, Ben, Will, Luke, Kailey Cerney. Also, many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daniel, brother, Clarence, Lawrence, Earl, Will Krueger; sisters, Rose Dotter, LuEllen Teschner, Grace Crass, and infant Margaret Krueger.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home, Tomahawk, WI with Pastor Julie Sinkula officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to time of service.
