Jeffrey James Feranec

April 16, 1961- August 18, 2026

Jeffrey “Jeff” Feranec, 65, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.  Jeff was born and raised in Phillips, Wisconsin, the son of Andrew and Irene Feranec. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1979, and also served and completed a tool and die apprenticeship. In October 1982-2006 he married Catherine Luzar and together they had two children, Staci Jo and Casey.

Always a very dedicated worker, he worked at Polacek Implement, Price Co. Highway Dept., IAP, Phillips Plastics, Palecek Trucking, and most recently as a tool and die machinist at Compumold in Phillips. He owned his own business; Jeff’s Fabrication, and his steady hand could weld and fix just about anything. The lifelong work he was most passionate about was farming, always making hay when the sun was shining, and taking the combine another round harvesting corn. He could never have too many Allis Chalmers tractors and took pride in his collection.

Jeff worked hard at everything he did, and preferred to keep things in life simple. He always said he never knew what he was doing until the minute he was doing it but was more than willing to lend a hand or help a neighbor in need without question or expecting anything in return. He knew what was important and what wasn’t, instilling in us to work hard and be humble and not to sweat the small stuff. Most who knew Jeff thought of him as a good man and knew how very important his family was to him and he loved them unconditionally.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Staci Jo (Joe) Grapa, Phillips, and his son Casey (Liz) Feranec, Chippewa Falls, along with 2 adored grandchildren, Stella Grapa and Jax Grapa. He is further survived by sisters Gloria (George) Kiefer, Patricia Watral, and Carol Gustafson as well as many loving nieces and nephews and other close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Irene Feranec, brothers John and Mickey, and sisters Judy, Sandee, and Kathy.

Per our Dad’s request, a private gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Catkins Animal Rescue in Jeff’s honor.
