John Koth

John P. Koth, age 73, of 810 E. King Road, Tomahawk, passed away, surrounded by his loving family Thursday, August 21, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield following a battle with leukemia. John was born August 17, 1935 in Tomahawk to Lloyd F. and Ruth (Olson) Koth. He married Ruth McKinney on October 8, 1955 also in Tomahawk. John was a lifelong resident of Tomahawk. He had worked at PCA Tomahawk Mill for many years. Following his retirement he enjoyed spending the winters in Texas and Florida. John also enjoyed taking care of his rental properties, golfing, and snowmobiling. John especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. John was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was the co-founder of the St. Joe's group. Survivors include: Wife, Ruth 2 Daughters, Karla (Ron) Kammer Tomahawk Laura (Ted) Theiler Wisconsin Dells 2 Sons, Jeff (Julie) Koth Milwaukee Kip (Chris) Koth Tomahawk Brother, Robert (Rose Marie) Koth Tomahawk John is further survived by 9 Grandchildren. (Eric & Kayla Koth, Dylan & Jesse Koth, Austin, Colton and Nicole Kammer, Kyle & Ryan Theiler) He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lance, and a brother, Lloyd. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2008. Fr. John Anderson and Fr. Edward Powell will concelebrate the mass. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the Corpus Christi Center of St. Mary Catholic Church on Sunday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. A parish vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening in the Corpus Christi Center.
