JOSEPH M. HLASNY
Joseph Matthew Hlasny, 72, Town of Hackett, Prentice, died at his home on Thursday, September 18, 2014, while under the care of his family and Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. He was born on June 16, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Helen (Lasica) Hlasny. He was a 1960 graduate of the Phillips High Schol. He was married to Vicci Peevler in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Phillps on April 4, 1964. He was a 30+ year employee of Prentice Hydraulics-Omark Industries-Blount of Prentice where he worked as a welder, retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church of Phillps, of the Catholic Knights, and of the Prentice Bushbenders Snowmobile Club. He served as Supervisor and Town Chairman for the Town of Hackett for many years. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time in the woods, working as a volunteer for the food pantry, snowmobiling, and operating the groomer on the snowmobile trails.
He is survived by his wife, Vicci; by one son, Daniel (Kathi), Phillips; by two daughters, Patricia (Mark) Maki, Wausau, and Penny Hlasny, Prentice; by two grandchildren, Brianna and Kyle; by one granddaughter-in-law, Darenda; by two great grandchildren, Sonja and Skylar; by two brothers and two sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents; by one grandson, Bradley; and by one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 20, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips with Father Gerald Hagen and Deacon James Celba celebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12:Noon until the time of services.. Interment will be in the Hackett Cemetery in the Town of Hackett.
