JUNE ENID PATTERSON
June E. Patterson, 94, longtime Fifield resident, died on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, while under the care of her family and Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice.
She was born on March 6, 1923, in Fifield, the daughter of James and June (Walker) Costello.
She spent most of her life in Price County. She attended and graduated grade and High School, in Fifield., Class of 1941.
Following high school she was employed in Milwaukee and then in Eau Claire before returning to Fifield..
She was married to Linton E .Patterson on September 18, 1948, in Fifield. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2006.She was employed by the U.S. Post office for many years and was the Postmaster in Tripoli prior to the time of her retirement.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Fifield.
In her free time she was involved as a girl scout leader, enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by 6 children: Amy Martwick, Rice Lake, Wi., Lon Patterson, Fifield, Jan Patterson, Catawba, Bruce (Christine) Patterson, Clintonville, Wi., Rebecca Patterson, Madison, Wi., and Colleen (Royce) Neumaier, Poyette, Wi., 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law: Eileen Patterson and Bonnie Patterson, both of Park Falls, Wi., and 1 son-in-law John Martwick, Phillips
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Linton on Feb. 13, 2006, by 1 daughter Debi Martwick and by 6 brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church, Fifield, with Pastor Lindsay Thomaschefsky officiating. Inurnment will be in the Forest Home, Cemetery, Fifield. Friends may call at the church on Tues., July 18, 2017, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
The Heindl Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
