Kenneth A. Heizler, 83, of Phillips, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 8, 2023, at The Waterford, Park Falls, under the care of the Compassus Home Health Care & Hospice. He was born January 31, 1940, to Rudolph and Kathryn (Zubcack) Heizler, in Lugerville, WI.
Ken grew up a lifelong resident of Lugerville, attending the Lugerville schoolhouse and graduating from Phillips High School. He worked on the mink ranch with his father, at Lionite for years, and for Toby Tree Service. He was town chairman for the Town of Flambeau for many years. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends. He married Linda Kosterman on September 20, 1982, in a little chapel in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Dale (Patti) Kosterman; brother, Bob Heizler; sisters, Diane Martinek and Patty (Aaron) Berg; grandchildren, Kyle (Emily) and Karley; and great-grandson, Kraven. Many nieces, nephews, other loved family members and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ken Jr; sister-in-law, Karen Heizler; brother-in-law, Steve Martinek.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street. No formal service will take place. A celebration of life will follow at Southfork Bar & Grill, N11154 County Road F, Phillips, WI, to celebrate the lives of Kenneth and his son, Kenneth Jr. who passed away February 6, 2023.
